Differences between ivermectin and albendazo
Differences between ivermectin and
Albendazole
1. Different indications:
Ivermectin can treat onchocerciasis and strongyloidiasis, and can also be used to treat hookworm, roundworm, whipworm, and pinworm infections.
Albendazole can also treat hookworm infection, roundworm infection, or pinworm infection, and can also treat cysticercosis and echinococcosis.
2. Different pharmacological effects:
Ivermectin can increase the permeability of cell membranes to chloride ions, hyperpolarize nerve cells or local muscle cells, paralyze parasites, and even kill parasites. Albendazole can block the absorption of nutrients and glucose by parasites, making it impossible for the parasites to survive and reproduce.
